We’re entering a very exciting season for golf enthusiasts. Since the weather down south warms up earlier than it does up north, southern states have the advantage of hosting some of the first big golf tournaments of the season. The beautiful golf courses at Hilton Head were just made for such exciting national showcases. Most notably, we’re gearing up for the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament. Here’s what you need to know.
Time and Place:
April 13-19, 2020
Harbour Town Golf Links
Just as the weather is warming up for good, spectators can go outside and enjoy a light breeze and warm sunshine (hopefully without rain).
History:
The tournament began in 1969, making 2020 its 52nd year. Pete Dye designed the course along with help from Jack Nicklaus. And many of the champions of this PGA Tour stop have gone on to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Attendance:
Around 135,000 people attended the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament in 2019. Those who don’t have problems with crowds will be fine. Luckily, the course is spread over many acres to accommodate the many fans who come to spectate.
Volunteers:
Interested in helping? More than 1,200 volunteers are needed to put the event together and make it run smoothly.
Television:
If you enjoy the ambiance of the tournament but prefer to watch from the comfort of a resort hotel room, you’ll be able to watch on the Golf Channel during the weekdays from 3-6pm and from 1-2pm on the weekend. Weekend coverage will also be available on CBS Sports from 3-6pm.
If you’re looking forward to enjoying the warmth and beautiful scenery surrounding this tournament, you won’t have much longer to wait. Be sure to book a reservation today before the resorts fill up!
