The official beginning of summer! Because some of us just can’t wait until mid-June, Memorial Day has traditionally been the time when beach-lovers break out the suntan lotion. Since the warm weather comes earlier to the South, Hilton Head is a great place for your family to come and find your favorite outdoor activities in full swing.
One of Hilton Head’s most famous attractions are the golf courses. If you plan to be around the island for a good part of the summer, now might be the time to learn to golf and find yourself in one of the most beautiful places in the world for the sport. Now is the time to check out the Family Golf School so that you can spend the rest of the summer checking out the many golf courses we have to find your favorite.
Hit the Beach
This is the real reason you are coming to Hilton Head, isn’t it? The beautiful white-sand beaches have been calling your name all winter. You’re not alone. Last year, over 70,000 vehicles crossed bridges onto the island to celebrate the holiday weekend. While there are plenty of spacious beaches, both public and private, you are going to want to have a plan when you come. Be sure to check out which beach is best for you and your family to enjoy the sand and surf this season.
Hilton Head Art Fest
What will you find on Memorial Day that’s unique to Hilton Head? For the 5th year running, Shelter Cove Harbour will be hosting the Hilton Head Art Fest. Come out Saturday or Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to browse works of art in a multitude of media. Shoppers will also find more than a hundred crafters with unique goods for sale, and beginning Friday evening throughout the weekend, your family can enjoy musical performances to entertain family members of all ages.
Kick off this summer with everything you’re hoping for this season—sun, sand, and whole family entertainment. Hilton Head has everything you will need for a whole summer of fun and relaxation.
