In the words of Buddy the Elf… “SANTA’S COMING!” The holidays are always a jolly good time to visit Hilton Head. The milder temperatures are perfect for riding bikes on the many miles of trails or birdwatching at the Audubon Newhall Preserve. If you’re looking for ways to get into the holiday spirit, here are a few ways you and your family can spend Christmas in Hilton Head this December.

Visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus? Shelter Cove Towne Center is hosting several visits this December with the Big Guy and Mrs. Claus and has been since November 25th. You still have these dates to bring your camera for a festive keepsake:

  • Friday, December 17th 12p-2p
  • Friday, December 23rd 5p-7p
  • Saturday, December 24th 12p-2p

Christmas Fun in South Beach

Over at the Salty Dog Café in the South Beach Marina, you’ll find all kinds of Christmas fun! Tour their beautiful Christmas village, check out their solar-/wind-powered 18’ live Christmas tree, and snack on s’mores and cocoa on the waterfront while enjoying live music.

Lowcountry Christmas Experience

On December 22nd at 6pm, take the whole family to LowCountry Community Church for a night of wonder and joy. The Lowcountry Christmas Experience is a family-friendly event with the area’s largest walking trail of Christmas lights, free refreshments, a live nativity and petting zoo, pictures with Santa, and so much more!

Christmas Eve Under the Stars

Start a new tradition this year and join the community at Bluffton Oyster Factory Park for the 12th annual Christmas Eve Under the Stars. This family-oriented outdoor worship service starts at 6:30 and includes Christmas carols sung by candlelight and free refreshments provided under the pavilion.

Christmas only comes once a year, so why not make the most of it? Celebrating Christmas in Hilton Head with your family will give them memories to last a lifetime. You don’t need snow to have a white Christmas when you spend it on the white sandy beaches of Hilton Head! It’s not too late to book your stay, so pack up the kids, pack up the tree, and head to Hilton Head for your Christmas vacation! And don’t worry, Santa Claus can find your kiddos to leave them presents no matter where they lay their heads.
