If you want to take a tour around Hilton Head Island, there are many ways you can accomplish that. Touring on wheels helps you see more in the least amount of time, so you can get to the beach and catch some rays, too. Touring by bicycle will show you the best the island has to offer in shoreline scenery. But by far, the coolest way to take a tour of the island is the Hilton Head Island Trolley.
The Breeze Trolley just restarted offering tours for the season, running from 1:00 in the afternoon until 10:00 pm on weekdays, and there is NO COST for the ride. However, there are a few things you should know before you go.
What to Expect
- There are twelve stops around the island, with a differently named car arriving about every thirty minutes. Check here for a listing of stops.
- The retro theme features wooden interiors, including the benches, so it’s not the best place to take a nap. But there is plenty of seating to make social distancing possible.
- Although each trolley is ADA compliant and able to accommodate those with limited mobility, there are certain things that are NOT able to be accommodated on board. These include beach carts and strollers that cannot be collapsed and stored, and animals other than service animals. They ask you to also please refrain from eating, drinking, and smoking. No firearms are permitted on board.
- A bike rack is available if needed, and each trolley is air conditioned and equipped with Wi-Fi.
After your trip to Hilton Head, you’ll want to have plenty of fun facts and stories to tell your friends when you get home. Tell them all about the island, and then tell them you learned it all on the trolley.
