There are plenty of events going on around Hilton Head in September to keep everyone in your group entertained between school bells. From hunting critters in the sand by the light of a full moon for the whole family to challenging all the 21 and up members of your family to a beer-fueled marathon, we’ve got you covered!

Harbour Town Fall Fest

From 11am-6pm on Sunday, September 15th, head to Harbour Town at the Sea Pines Resort for the Harbour Town Fall Fest. Festivities include a sidewalk sale at Harbour Town Shops, live music by the local favorite band Deas-Guyz, nautical activities like watersports, tours, and boat rides, dining on the harbour, and fun activities for the kids. And for car lovers, the Carolina Dreamers Car Club will be there with a showcase of classic cars.

Island Rec Center’s 3rd Beer Mile

Come join Island Rec Center for their 3rd Beer Mile at the Lowcountry Celebration Park on Friday, September 13, from 6-8pm! This ultimate test of athleticism and drinking skill involves running four laps, but you have to drink a cup of Draft Ultra before each lap. You can also opt for a gluten-free substitution of Truly if you prefer. You MUST have a designated driver to participate! The $40 entry fee includes a t-shirt and snacks after the race. Additional beer will be available for purchase at the afterparty. Bring a friend and don’t miss out on the fun!

Full Moon Shore Explore

Explore the stunning beaches of Hilton Head illuminated by the full moon this Tuesday, September 17th from 8-9pm. Join us as we explore the tides and learn about the moon’s influence during the Full Moon Shore Explore. We’ll search for the fascinating critters that live in the dunes and swim in the surf. Reservations are required and prices are $16 for adults and $13 for children.

Hilton Head Island Shrimp Festival

Calling all shrimp lovers! On Saturday, September 21st from 1-4pm, the Hilton Head Island Shrimp Festival will feature savory shrimp dishes prepared by Hilton Head and Bluffton chefs, craft beers from over 16 breweries, various goods from local vendors, and live music performances. Kids will love the bounce house, arts and crafts, and face painting in the “Kid Zone.” If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of Forrest Gump! Bubba taught him the best ways to prepare shrimp, and he’s expected to take part in voting on the People’s Choice for Best Dish!

BlufftemberFest

BlufftemberFest is a Bluffton-style Octoberfest Music Fest Celebration that concludes its annual Bluffton Sunset Party Series. This year, it’s on Saturday, September 28th from 3-8pm at Oyster Factory Park with plenty of entertainment for all ages thanks to five hours of live music from three great bands:

  • The Chiggers
  • The Rich Nelson Band
  • Rock Candy

Come thirsty with an appetite as there will be plenty to choose from with a beer garden, wine bar, hard cider, and food truck court. Buy your tickets now because they’re $5 more at the door!
