October is National Seafood Month, an annual celebration that honors the delicious varieties of seafood enjoyed by people around the world. From smoked salmon and buttery lobster tails to shrimp cocktail and sushi, there’s a type of seafood for everyone to savor. It may seem like every day on the coast is a seafood appreciation day. But you can never go wrong with these Hilton Head dining spots.
Hudson’s on the Docks
At Hudson’s, you can enjoy the freshest seafood in the area. Most of it comes from the waters right under their docks! Housed in a 1912 factory still partially used for fish processing, they offer dayboat seafood, farm their own oysters and soft-shell crabs, and support local fishermen by purchasing fresh seafood and fish.
Red Fish
If you’re looking for a unique blend of seafood, steaks, and fresh local produce combined with Lowcountry specialties, look no further than Red Fish. Dedicated to providing guests with the freshest ingredients, they serve homegrown produce from their very own Bear Island Farms. Their restaurant has an extensive award-winning wine list, and readers of Hilton Head Monthly Magazine voted them the Best Wine Selection, Best Burger, and Favorite Caterer.
Quarterdeck
The newly updated Quarterdeck is a reimagined classic and the focal point of Harbour Town. Situated near the famous lighthouse, the restaurant offers the perfect setting to savor the stunning sunsets of Hilton Head Island. The first floor has a bar and dining area, but you can’t miss the crowning glory – a rooftop oyster bar boasting breathtaking 270-degree views of Harbour Town and Calibogue Sound.
Slapfish
In addition to delectable dishes, at Slapfish, you’re also getting sustainably and ethically sourced seafood. Their seafood is carefully selected from reputable suppliers and their to-go packaging is crafted from renewable resources. They take pride in certifications from the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC).
The Black Marlin Bayside Grill
You can dine inside or out on the expansive pet-friendly covered patio at The Black Marlin Bayside Grill. They have a great selection of fresh seafood, hand-cut steaks, and weekend brunch with a Create-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar! There’s even a waterside Hurricane Bar perfect for watching sporting events or catching seasonal live music. They were also recently listed as the “Best Shrimp and Grits on Hilton Head” by Lowcountry Style and Living!
So don’t worry if you’re not the type to go out fishing for your own “catch of the day.” There are plenty of Hilton Head dining spots that will make celebrating National Seafood Month a breeze!
