There’s a National State of Emergency declared, now what?2020-07-22T16:37:42+00:00

If a national state of emergency is declared due to hurricane or other reasons, all items/bikes will be picked up by our staff as soon as possible for safe keeping and security purposes. Due to circumstances being beyond our control, there can be no refunds if this situation occurs. Also, please be advised that the bikes may be picked up with our without prior notification.

Can I Get A Refund?2019-07-10T17:24:50+00:00

It depends on the situation. For instance, if you’ve already placed your order via our online ordering system and the order has been submitted, you can receive a 90% refund (full refund less 10% administrative & processing fees as long as cancellation occurs at least 24 hours in advance of the delivery). However, if you cancel any order (regardless of whether it was placed online or over the phone) less than 24 hours prior to the delivery date, a $25 cancellation fee will be incurred. We do not give any refunds once rentals have been loaded onto trucks and left the warehouse, or once the delivery of your order has taken place. If you need a refund for another particular reason, that would be at the discretion of management.

Where Are My Bikes?2019-07-10T17:11:56+00:00

If it’s past check-in time at your rental and you haven’t located your bikes yet, please check under the door mat or in the door jam just outside your front door for a receipt that will have identification numbers and a lock code assigned to you/your party. Check the nearest bike rack to the unit you are renting. If there are no racks, the bikes will likely be locked to a nearby post or tree near your unit. There are little silver stickers on the bar of the bikes, under the handlebars, that correspond with the identification numbers on your receipt. All of your bikes/order should be locked up together, in one location. If you have not found your receipt or cannot locate your bikes, please contact our office for assistance. *Please keep bikes/items locked at all times.

What Time Will You Pick Up My Bikes?2019-07-10T17:06:19+00:00

We do not pick-up at a specific time, however, we begin our pick-ups first thing in the mornings. If you would like to request a later day pick-up, please let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. However, this is not always possible if the inventory is needed to fulfill other orders.

We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We do not accept American Express.

Can I get my bikes delivered in the morning?2019-06-05T17:31:54+00:00

Delivery times are not guaranteed. If you should require a specific time frame for bikes to arrive, please call our office to make a request. If you would like your bikes delivered prior to 10:00 a.m., we suggest ordering delivery a day prior to the arrival date. Please know that we make every effort to deliver bikes in a timely, efficient and safe manner and will get your items to you as soon as is possible.

Yes, we have men bikes with oversized frames. Be sure to request one if you are over 6’2″.

Please click BOOK NOW or click the orange “book now” button in the upper/right-hand corner of the web page, which will direct you to our secure ordering page (don’t worry, you don’t have to place an order to check pricing, the dates you enter will prompt our system to provide the pricing for those dates).  Complete STEP 1 (arrival date, departure date, email address and whether you will be staying inside Sea Pines Plantation).  Then proceed to STEP 2 where you can scroll to see pricing for all rental inventory and/or place your order.

How do I find my receipt/bikes/lock combo?2022-04-16T17:11:46+00:00

Once we deliver the bikes and lock them up outside of your rental property, we will leave your receipt under the doormat OUTSIDE the front door to your house/villa.  If no doormat exists, the receipt will be wedged in the door jam.  On this receipt you will see, in the lower left corner, a 4 digit lock combo that has been assigned – for your convenience all of the locks we issue your party will be the same combo.  Though all of our bikes say HiltonHeadBikes.com or Palmetto Bikes on them, all of our adult bikes are blue and have red tape on the handlebars.  Another way to identify your bikes is to cross reference the bike serial number on the receipt with the metallic sticker on the actual bike.  The bike serial number will be written on the middle portion of your receipt, this will correspond to the number on the metallic sticker that is on the crossbar of the bike.

Do I have to lock my bikes?2019-01-22T18:22:14+00:00

YES, absolutely!!!   It is your responsibility to keep your bikes LOCKED UP at all times when you’re not using them. There is a $ 250.00 stolen bike fee. Bicycle thefts are on the rise in Hilton Head. If you leave it unlocked it will get stolen.

What are the bicycle rules on the island?2019-02-05T16:23:11+00:00

Follow the flow of traffic. Cars have the right of way in Plantations. Ride on the bike paths as that’s what they are for. Do not ride on roads that have bike paths adjacent to them. Stay on the paths and off the roads. Bike paths are marked in many locations on posted maps. You can view a Pathway Map on our website. There are also folded maps available at numerous locations around the island.

Can I ride my bike into any other Plantation?2018-12-19T04:08:32+00:00

Yes and no. You can enter or leave any plantation if you are staying in that plantation. If you are not a renter you will need a guest pass from a homeowner or renter in that plantation.

Can I ride my bike into Sea Pines Plantation?2018-12-19T04:08:05+00:00

Yes/No. You can only get into Sea Pines if you know someone who lives there or if you are renting property in Sea Pines Plantation. You can also pay $5.00 at the gate plus a dollar per bike but they have to be in your car or truck to enter Sea Pines.

Do we have to be there for the delivery and pick up of the bikes?2019-01-23T17:45:03+00:00

No you don’t.  If no one from your party is available at the property during the time of delivery we will leave a receipt under the doormat OUTSIDE the front door to your house or villa.  You also do not need to be present for the pick up of the rentals.  We will return the morning of the day that you have selected for pick up.  Please leave bikes LOCKED UP, outside your house or villa in a similar manner as they were delivered.  We have carbon copies of your lock combos so we will be able to access the bikes for pick up, even if you are unavailable.

How far in advance should I place my order?2019-01-22T17:48:05+00:00

During the in-season months (April – September) we recommend placing your order as soon as you are ready, as these months are extremely busy and we will sell out of various items.  Generally speaking, even though we will do our best to accommodate last minute/same day orders, please note all online orders must be placed a minimum of 48 hours in advance of delivery date.  Any rental inside of 48 hours please call our office for assistance.

Do baskets come with the bike rentals?2019-02-05T16:11:27+00:00

Yes, we do offer complimentary baskets for all adult bikes (24″ bikes or larger).  Please be sure to specify how many complimentary baskets you would like at the time of placing your order.

Do we have to wear bike helmets?2019-01-22T17:55:12+00:00

No you don’t, South Carolina doesn’t have a helmet law. We do have helmet’s available for for rent. They come in 3 universal sizes (toddler, youth, adult).  All helmets feature an adjustable dial that can tighten or loosen to make the perfect fit.  

What are the size limits for the Baby Seat?2019-01-22T17:58:53+00:00

12 months to 4 years old.  The child should be able to sit in the baby seat with the ability to hold their head upright under their own power.  The baby seat has a 40 lb weight limit.

What is a Kiddie Kart?2019-01-23T17:55:38+00:00

A kiddie cart can accommodate 1 or 2 children inside it with a seat belt and shoulder harnesses –  a total weight limit of 80 lbs.  You can enclose the cart with a rain shield, choose to use the screened cover, or roll back the entire cover and tuck behind the child’s back rest.  If looking to haul beach cargo/supplies – see our cargo cart attachment.  ***ALL OF OUR ATTACHMENTS MUST BE RENTED WITH AN ADULT BIKE***

A tandem is a bike built for two adults. Both adults will need to pedal in unison, in a coordinated fashion. 

What is an Alley Cat?2019-02-05T16:12:25+00:00

An Alley Cat is an adult bike with an extension for a child. The child does not have to pedal.  The adult rider will control steering and breaking.  This is a great training tool while a young child is learning what the sensation of riding a bike is all about.   ***ALL OF OUR ATTACHMENTS MUST BE RENTED WITH AN ADULT BIKE***

Can I ride the bike on the beach?2019-01-22T18:05:18+00:00

Yes you can as long as you don’t ride them in the salt water. There is a $25 cleaning fee if a bike comes back covered in beach mud, or has salt water damage.
