With Thanksgiving coming up here in a few days, you may be wondering how to work off all the turkey and fixins’ you’ll be stuffing in your face. If you’re lucky enough to celebrate Thanksgiving in Hilton Head, there are plenty of beautiful bike trails all over the island you and your family can use to burn off those holiday calories. These are the best Hilton Head bike trails for a variety of skill levels to choose from.

Sea Pines Trails

If you’re a resident or guest of the Sea Pines Community, you’ll have access to 15 miles of leisure trails through some of the most notable spots on the island. Points of interest include a 605-acre Forest Preserve, the South Beach Marina Village, Harbour Town, Stoney-Baynard Ruins, and so much more.

Jarvis Creek Park

For a little added fitness, Jarvis Creek Park has a fitness station with several pieces of outdoor training equipment in addition to the 1.1-mile paved loop. You can check out the gorgeous Live Oak the park was designed around and take in the scenery of the lake and marshy areas from the pier and wooden bridges throughout.

Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge

With over 14 miles of gravel roads and grass trails, you can get in touch with nature while bicycling through the Pinckney Island NWR. You can make a day of it with the family through activities like fishing, wildlife and bird watching, hunting, photography, and hiking.

Burkes Beach

Located next to Chaplin Community Park, Burkes Beach is a great beach to visit on a bike. Many paved trails lead to the park, and you can relax to the sounds of the ocean before heading off to another bike trail or back to your room or rental.

Fish Haul Creek

If you prefer a quiet ride somewhere off the beaten path that isn’t as popular with tourists, Fish Haul Creek is where it’s at. The 31-acre preserve has shaded trails, an observation deck over the salt marsh, and a secluded beach perfect for clamming and fishing.
